Facts (Overview)

Astraeus Airlines is based in Crawley, England. It changed it's business model in 2008 and now mainly operates on an ACMI basis for other carriers. It will undertake dry, wet or damp leases and also has a flourishing ad hoc department. The current fleet consists of two B737-700s and five B757-200s. In 2008 Astraeus Airlines gained it's IOSA registration and also it's World Wide AOC (WWAOC). It operates both fleet types in an ETOPS configuration and is now the only airline to be based at Gatwick Airport. While currently operating medium term leases with carries like BMI and Gahan International it will also be embarking in February 2008 on a second world tour for the rock band Iron Maiden, operating a specially converted B757 Combi carrying 54 passengers in two classes along with 6 tonnes of equipment in a converted rear cabin.
