Estonian Air is Estonia’s national carrier which was founded on 1 December 1991.  The company is a member of IATA from 1992. As of 2010, Estonian Air is the number one airline in Estonia with 42% market share of regular flights.

Estonian Air is owned by the Estonian state (90%) and SAS Group (10%). Estonian Air, having the home base in Tallinn Airport, provides both business travellers and tourists direct air link from Estonia to European cities flying non-stop from Tallinn to 18 destinations in Europe.

In addition to scheduled flights Estonian Air operates charter flights, carries cargo and mail. Estonian Air has code-share agreements with SAS, Aeroflot, AeroSvit, Belavia; Brussels Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Rossiya and Spanair.

Estonian Air is known by its punctuality and regularity. In 2010 the average regularity was 98, 1% and 15 minutes punctuality 86, 7%. Company has also received such awards like the most punctual European Airline in Amsterdam Schipol in 2009 and the most punctual Regional Airline in Brussels Zaventem in 2010.

Estonia’s national carrier is also awarded by its innovativeness in social media activities. The 2nd Annual SimpliFlying Awards for Excellence in Social Media honoured Estonian Air in 2011 as the best airline in the world in driving revenue via social media.
