As the largest airline of the Philippines, Philippine Airlines, Inc.  has an extensive domestic and international route network and is an important contributor to the Philippine economy. The Airline operates under a franchise, granted by the Philippine government under Presidential Decree No. 1590, which extends up to the year 2034. Operating from its base in the Philippines, the Airline currently offers approximately 468 (charters not included) weekly scheduled international flights to 26 destinations in 16 countries and territories in Asia, Australia, Canadaand the United States, 504 weekly domestic scheduled flights to 8 cities and towns in the Philippines. In addition, the Airline provides passengers with flights to five (5) other international destinations, as well as numerous other destinations in the Philippines, through codeshare arrangements with other airlines.
