Facts (Overview)

As the largest airline of the Philippines, Philippine Airlines, Inc. has an extensive domestic and international route network and is an important contributor to the Philippine economy. The Airline operates under a franchise, granted by the Philippine government under Presidential Decree No. 1590, which extends up to the year 2034. Operating from its base in the Philippines, the Airline currently offers approximately 485 weekly scheduled international flights to 25 destinations in 16 countries and territories in Asia, Australia, Canada and the United States, and 652 weekly domestic scheduled flights to 19 cities and towns in the Philippines. In addition, the Airline provides passengers with flights to six other international destinations, as well as numerous other destinations in the Philippines, through codeshare arrangements with other airlines. The Airline provides the majority of its airline passenger and cargo services through its Manila hub, which enables it to consolidate passenger traffic from multiple points to serve each destination effectively. The Airline currently operates a fleet of 36 aircraft, comprising a mixture of Boeing and Airbus widebody and narrowbody aircraft.
