Facts (Overview)
Vietnam Airlines (VN) is the national flag carrier of Vietnam that was established in 1993. The airline has been a member of IATA since 2006. In June 2010, VN officially joined SkyTeam Alliance as a full member.
In 2010, Vietnam Airlines carried more than 12,2 millions passengers in total (international flight: 5.25 mil, domestic 7.96mil), 30,7% increase from 2009. The passenger flown was 19,27 billion pax.km, up 30% more than 2009 also.
Up to Summer Schedule 2011, VN operates 46 routes to 26 international destinations and 37 routes to 20 Vietnam's domestic destinations.
Vietnam Airlines’ targets to become the second largest airlines in the Southeast Asia by 2020. At that time, we will be a network carrier, operating 84 routes to 45 international destinations. In domestic market, a new feeder airlines will be founded, operating also all Indochina and other regional routes.
