Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is in a strategic geographical position providing access to two thirds of major air markets within 90 minutes and half of the US population within 60 minutes. CVG offers service to 52 non-stop destinations providing passengers more daily flight options than any other airport in the tri-state (Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana) region. CVG also serves as the region’s transatlantic international gateway with daily non-stop service to Paris, France and provides additional non-stop international service to Toronto, Canada.
In the summer 2012, CVG will complete a $31M USD renovation of its Main Terminal and reactivation of Concourse A. This will significantly enhance the customer experience and improve the efficiency and operations of our airline partners as well as provide expansion opportunities for future growth with the addition of 8 new gates.
CVG is home to DHL’s main U.S. hub and is one of three global “Super Hubs” from which DHL Express serves over 220 countries. In 2012, DHL will further expand its CVG operations with the addition of a $47M USD sorting facility bringing the total square footage in the operation to over 700,000. DHL employ’s over 2,000 at CVG and operates 79 flights a day to over 26 destinations.
CVG was the first airport in the country to apply for and receive the SAFETY Act Designation and Certification from the Department of Homeland Security. In 2011, CVG ranked #1 in Customer Service Excellence and was named Best Regional Airport by Skytrax at the World Airport Awards.
