Facts (Overview)

Norwich International Airport is located just 3 miles from the historic city of Norwich in the county of Norfolk, in the East of England. The Airport is over 2 hours drive from its nearest commercial competitor giving it a clearly defined and loyal catchment area whose core area contains almost 1.5 million residents.

The Airport is used by a number of scheduled operators including KLM, Flybe, bmi Regional, Eastern Airways, and charter companies including Thomas Cook, Thomson, First Choice, Balkan Holidays, Air Malta, Atlantic Holidays, Premier Holidays and Newmarket Holidays. The Airport is also a vital hub for the southern north sea offshore oil and gas industry, and currently supports helicopter operators Bristow, Bond and NHV.

The Airport owns a long established travel agency business which operates two shops - one in the terminal building and the other in Norwich's shopping mall. The agency - Travel Norwich Airport - has a very strong brand in the region and provides an excellent route to market for Norwich Airport product and an efficient and effective marketing tool for new services.

Despite the range of carriers and routes on offer there is very significant passenger leakage to the London airports - over 2 million journeys per annum - with the principle destinations being Alicante, Malaga, Palma, Faro, Dublin, Paris and Belfast.
