Cluj-Napoca International Airport is the access gateway to Transylvania and the preferred place to land for those looking to discover the region for business and leisure. It is Romania’s 4th airport and the second largest of the regional airports in the country, with a large catchment area of 3.5 million passengers in 150 km radial.
In 2010 and 2011 Cluj airport accommodated more than 1 million passengers on scheduled and charter flights.
Cluj-Napoca International Airport offers attractive airport charges and incentive programs for new destinations. Committed to its future development plans, the airport also invests in expanding and upgrading its infrastructure. Thus, the construction of a new runway started in 2011.
Cluj city is the second biggest financial center of the country, hosts the oldest academic centre in Romania, with 11 universities and more than 100,000 students and is famous for historical and cultural attractions, as well as for medical tourism.
