Nestled between mountains, mangroves, and the shores of the Coral Sea, Cairns Airport is Australia's largest regional airport. It is the 5th busiest airport for international passengers, and 6th busiest airport overall in Australia. It is internationally recognised as the gateway to the world's oldest rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef

4.2 million passengers passed through the Airport in 2007 and this figure is expected to grow to 5.9 million per year in 2020. The Airport is located just 6kms from the heart of Cairns City and consists of separate International and Domestic Terminals, a large General Aviation Precinct, Airport Business Park, and provides access to transport servicing Tropical North Queensland.
