Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) started off 2016 with the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Curaçao International Airport Terminal Expansion Project.

Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) started off 2016 with the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Curaçao International Airport Terminal Expansion Project. Important partner in this development is governmental company Curaçao Airport Holding, which is also investing significantly in the realization of the Terminal Expansion Project.

The Terminal Expansion Project is a crucial component of the Airport Expansion Plan 2015-2018. The ceremony marks the symbolic start of this major project and other construction developments starting in 2016 at Curaçao International Airport.

CAP realizes the important impact the airport developments will have on the areas where Employees of CAP and of governmental enthities and private companies offer their services, and also significant; the economic and strategic impact, as CAP will offer an enhanced and improved facility, positioning Curaçao as a more competitive airport in the Caribbean region. For this reason CAP invited representatives and stakeholders of the Government of Curaçao, the airport community and the business community to partake in this significant symbolic step.

Speeches were given by Minister Rhuggenaath (Ministry of Economic Development), Minister Jardim (Ministry of Finance), Curaçao Airport Partners CEO Mr. Ralph Blanchard, Chairman of the board of Curaçao Airport Holding Mr. Jerry Semper, Member of the board of ABVO Mr. Kenneth Bremer and President of the board of the Chamber of Commerce Curaçao Mr. Billy Jonckheer.

Minister Rhuggenaath, although being abroad, had prepared a special video message in which he put the emphasis on the importance of the developments at Curaçao International Airport.

The start date of the construction work for the Terminal Expansion Project is the second Quarter of 2016. The end date is set in the second half of 2018.
