Dublin adds Leeds Bradford with Aer Lingus Regional

New route adds more regional connectivity to Dublin and North America

A new Aer Lingus Regional double daily service between Dublin Airport and Leeds-Bradford has been launched – the airline’s thirteenth Dublin route.

The new service was inaugurated yesterday at an informal event attended by Julian Carr, Managing Director of Stobart Air, which operates Aer Lingus regional, and senior Dublin Airport personnel.

Passengers on the inaugural flight were treated to cupcakes and light refreshments to mark the occasion.

Mr Carr said it was “a very exciting day” for Aer Lingus Regional, adding that the first two days’ flights were fully booked.

“We have been very encouraged by the sales so far. Leeds Bradford is an area I know well and I know the opportunities for growth that exist on this route, both for business and tourist travellers.”

He said Aer Lingus Regional was a friendly airline providing a reliable service between the UK and Ireland and beyond to the US on the Aer Lingus transatlantic network.

“The quickest way from Leeds to New York is now through Dublin – a journey of nine hours and 55 minutes, including US Pre-Clearance in Dublin.”

Dublin Airport Head of B2B Marketing John Hurley said Dublin greatly exceeded Heathrow in the number of connection points from UK regional cities to the US.

“There are eight points of connections from regional UK through Heathrow to the US, while Dublin now has 22 such connections points.”
