New US Preclearance Passenger Lounge Opens Monday

A new luxury passenger lounge, located just after US Preclearance in Terminal 2, will open to the travelling public on Monday next.

The new 750 square metre facility, with seating for 180 people, has the unusual distinction of being under US jurisdiction while still on Irish soil.

It will be known as 51st & Green – a name reflecting the theme of intersection, the 51st state of America and green for Ireland and Dublin Airport.

The lounge will be available to transatlantic passengers travelling with Aer Lingus, Delta, United and American Airlines holding business class tickets and airline club cards.

It is designed as a space where passengers can relax or work after clearing security and US Preclearance while waiting to be called to their boarding gate located just a walk away.

The layout of the lounge is inspired by Newgrange, with a 32 metre entrance corridor, with terrazzo tile and spaced with bronze strips, sloping to a bright open space with spectacular views straight on to the airfield.

Along with food and drink facilities, the new lounge will also offer a concierge service, luxury shower rooms, an entertainment area with sports channels, a private area for Platinum Services customers, printing facilities, charging outlets for multiple devices and ccomplimentary wi-fi.

Promotional material will include a clever visual play on Molly Malone and Marylyn Monroe – to be known as Molly Monroe.
