TAROM connects Hamburg Airport with Bucharest

New service to Romanian capital

Hamburg Airport’s portfolio of routes to eastern Europe is being enriched with an attractive new service: From 9 May, 2016, the Romanian airline TAROM is operating four weekly flights between Hamburg and Bucharest. The route will be served with modern Airbus A318 aircraft on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Bucharest is a brand new entry in Hamburg Airport’s timetable this summer season. The Romanian city was number one on Hamburg Airport’s wish list for European destinations for a long time.

“We very much welcome TAROM’s commitment to Hamburg Airport,” says Michael Eggenschwiler, CEO of Hamburg Airport. “Bucharest is one of the few capital cities within the EU to which we did not have a direct service.” The connection is attractive for both business travellers and for people going on holiday or a city trip. I am happy that our passengers will have an even greater choice available in the future when they want to fly to Romania.”

“We are glad to announce our passengers that a new direct route to Germany will be soon launched, Bucharest-Hamburg. As the second largest city in Germany and the world’s third largest port, we believe that the Hamburg route will have high traffic potential and represents a new openness to the world for our passengers. TAROM connects Romania with the ‘Gateway to the World’”, says Christian Edouard Heinzmann, CEO & Accountable Manager of TAROM.

Return tickets are already available at a starting price of 101 euros, including taxes and charges, with a baggage allowance of one item weighing up to 23 kg and one item of carry-on baggage weighing up to 10 kg. Flights are available for immediate booking online at http://www.tarom.ro/en/.
