2015 in Review

Statistics regarding total passenger traffic in 2015, are the best in the history of Katowice Airport. For the first time ever, the airport handled over three- million passengers in a calendar year.

Overall, 3 069 279 people used Katowice Airport’s network, which is 373 547 (+13.8%) more than in 2014. Record-breaking results were achieved with regards to both regularly-scheduled as well as charter services. The former segment saw Katowice Airport handle 1 990 628, which is 313 571 more (+18.7%), and the latter handled 1 057 449 passengers, which translates to 71 622 more  (+7.2%) than in 2014. In addition, the number of aircraft operations has decidedly increased – 2015 saw 31 729 operations take place, which is 2 958 (+11.5%) more in comparison to the previous year.

 DECEMBER 2015 IN PASSENGER VOLUME

December 2015 was the ninth record-breaking month in a row at Katowice Airport. Never before has the airport in Pyrzowice handled so many passengers in the twelfth month of the year. In overall traffic, 175 713 passengers used Katowice Airport, which is 30 967 people (+21.3%) more than in the last month of 2014. Regularly-scheduled traffic saw 150 377 passengers use the airport; 23 973 more (+18.7%), and 17 821 passengers in charter traffic – 1 048 more (+6.2%) than in December the previous year.
