Cork Airport Welcomes Announcement of New Wizz Air Service to Wroclaw, Poland
Monday, October 12th, 2009. Wizz Air, Central and Eastern Europe's largest low-fare low-cost airline, has announced plans to introduce a Cork to Wroclaw service from July 17th next year
"Wizz Air currently operates services from Cork to Gdansk, Katowice, Poznan and Warsaw so we are delighted that they have decided to add Wroclaw to the list of Polish destinations available from Cork", said Kevin Cullinane, Marketing Manager, Cork Airport. "Given the well documented difficulties being experienced throughout the global aviation industry at present, this is a very positive announcement for Cork", continued Mr. Cullinane.
Wizz Air also announced five other new routes to its schedule: Paris, Beauvais, Oslo Torp, Eindhoven, Forli Bologna and Milan Bergamo.
John Stephenson, Executive Vice-President of Wizz Air said "Wroclaw will become our fifth base in Poland, reinforcing our commitment to the largest market in Wizz Air's network as well as our leadership on the Polish market. This move opens up enhanced travel opportunities to the Western area of Poland, creating hundreds of local jobs and providing significant revenue growth for the tourism industry in the region".
