NEW CORK TO GLASGOW SERVICE ANNOUNCED

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010. A new franchise agreement between Aer Lingus and Aer Arann will see the commencement of a Cork to Glasgow service from March 28th.

 
It will operate six round trips per week, operating on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Welcoming the new service, Kevin Cullinane, Aviation Marketing Manager, Cork Airport, said: "The addition of a new Cork to Glasgow service from March 28th ensures that we reconnect these two city regions for the busy summer season ahead. Aer Arann and Aer Lingus are not only enhancing their quality service offering from Cork Airport but also offering our business and leisure customers improved schedule and frequency options on existing routes".

Under the new franchise agreement, Aer Arann will also operate seasonal services from Cork to Jersey in the Channel Islands and La Rochelle in France. The franchise services will be branded as "Aer Lingus Regional" and operated using Aer Arann ATR 72-500 aircraft and crew.

The following services will operate from Cork under the new franchise agreement:

Ø    Cork to Glasgow - six round trips per week
Ø    Cork to Bristol - six round trips per week
Ø    Cork To Edinburgh - 11 round trips per week
Ø    Cork to Cardiff - Daily Service
Ø    Cork to La Rochelle - twice weekly service
Ø    Cork to Jersey - twice weekly service
