Norwegian opens new direct route from Oslo Airport to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

On Tuesday morning, Norwegian announced that they are opening a new direct route from Oslo Airport to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The route will be serviced by Norwegian’s long-haul aircraft, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, and will open on 1 November 2015 with one departure per week.

“We are of course very pleased that Norwegian is opening a new intercontinental route from Oslo Airport,” says Joachim Westher Andersen, media manager at Oslo Airport.

“This is in line with our ambitions of linking Oslo Airport to the world with more direct routes, and the travel destination Norwegian presented today is an exciting one.”

The service will be the first direct route in history from Norway to Puerto Rico and is Norwegian’s eighth intercontinental route from Norway’s main airport.

“Norwegian’s commitment to intercontinental routes is impressive, and we are proud of the fact that Oslo Airport is the starting point for so many flights.

“We look forward to the next chapter and anxiously await the next route launch,” says Andersen.

Year-round to Los Angeles

Norwegian also announced that its route between Oslo Airport and Los Angeles will be year-round.

"This shows that the route to Los Angeles has been a success , and it's great that the offer will be year round , Andersen concludes.
