Positive passenger growth continues

Schönefeld up by more than 6 per cent

In April, 2,406,528 passengers took off and landed at Berlin's Schönefeld and Tegel airports. This represents growth of 2.9 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. During the fourth month of the year, 670,880 passengers were recorded at Schönefeld (+6.6 per cent) and 1,735,648 passengers at Tegel (+1.6) per cent.

The number of flight movements rose in April to a total of 21,685 take-offs and landings, which represents an increase of 4.5 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements increased to 6,263. This corresponds to an increase of 8.8 per cent compared to the previous year. At Tegel, there was an increase of 2.8 per cent compared to the previous year. During the fourth month of the year, a total of 15,422 flight movements were recorded at Tegel.

A total of 8,436,316 passengers used Schönefeld and Tegel airports from January to April, which represents an increase of 4.6 per cent over the same period the previous year.

During the first four months, 6,093,524 passengers were recorded at Tegel, which is 2.2 per cent more than in the same period the previous year. Schönefeld Airport at the same time handled 2,342,792 passengers, which is 11.3 per cent more than during the same period in 2014.

The number of flight movements rose during the first four months to a total of 78,653 take-offs and landings, which represents an increase of 3.0 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. At Schönefeld, the number of flight movements increased to 22,274. This corresponds to an increase of 6.8 per cent compared to the previous year. At Tegel, there was an increase of 1.6 per cent compared to the previous year. Over the period January to April, a total of 56,379 flight movements were recorded at Tegel.

Air freight at Schönefeld and Tegel airports in April amounted to 3,635 tonnes, which represents an increase of 10.9 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
