easyJet inaugurates two new routes at Stockholm Arlanda

easyJet continues its investment at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Today the airline’s UK Commercial Manager, Neil Slaven, was on hand to inaugurate the two new destinations London Luton and Milan Malpensa. Together with the existing destinations Geneva and Lyon, easyJet has now established four new direct routes to Stockholm.
The new quick and smooth direct routes will offer passengers low fares to two very popular cities in Europe. London is the biggest destination for leisure travellers from Stockholm, whereas visitors from the UK represent the second largest group of foreign visitors to Stockholm. Milan and Stockholm have strong corporate ties through the presence of Swedish companies mainly in northern Italy.
“easyJet is one of the largest and fastest growing airlines in Europe. So we are really pleased that they continue to invest in Stockholm by launching three new destinations in a short period of time. We have had very strong passenger growth at Stockholm Arlanda in recent years, and easyJet’s expansion is clear confirmation that they see potential in the Swedish market,” says Kjell-Åke Westin, Airport Director at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

We are confident that these new routes will prove popular with our business passengers and holidaymakers.We have grown significantly in Sweden over the last year – in 2016 we also started two new routes from Stockholm to Lyon and from Åre Östersund to London Gatwick, the latter being our 138th network point. This growth means that we expect to carry nearly 200,000 passengers to and from Sweden this year,” says Neil Slaven, UK Commercial Manager for easyJet.
About the new routes
The Stockholm–London route will be operated four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The Stockholm–Milan route will be operated four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The route is operated with an A319 or A320.
