Bratislava Airport is the capital airport of Slovakia. In 2008 the airport handled 2 218 545 passengers.
68% of the traffic is scheduled, 62% is served by low-cost airlines.
The annual capacity of the airport is 3,5 million passengers. In 2008 Bratislava Airport commenced with a major reconstruction of its passenger terminals. The first half of the new terminal building is in operation since June 2010, the second half is due to be completed in 2012. The new one-roof building will increase the annual capacity to 5 million passengers and will provide a peak hourly throughput of 1 500 passengers.
Bratislava Airport supports new airlines with an attractive incentive programme including discounts for new destinations, discounts for preferred destinations, cargo incentives, marketing support and more.
