Edinburgh to New York Stewart Takes Off with Norwegian

Thursday the 16th June saw the inaugural flight from Edinburgh Airport take to the skies heading for New York Stewart International Airport, operated by Norwegian Airlines. This daily direct service offers passengers a low cost service between Edinburgh and New York, with return fares starting from £200.

To celebrate this milestone, Bjørn Kjos the CEO of Norwegian Airlines was joined by the Minister for International Development and Europe, Alasdair Allan and Sir John Elvidge, Edinburgh Airport’s chairman at the flight launch in Edinburgh Airport.

Flight Specifics  

The flight departs Edinburgh at 17:15 and arrives in Stewart at 20:00, from here, passengers can easily access New York City itself, hopping on the Stewart Airport Express that connects the airport to the city. This coach service offers an affordable and direct transfer in just an hour and a half.

The flight from Stewart International to Edinburgh departs at 21:25, arriving into Edinburgh at 9:25 the following day. Thanks to Edinburgh Airport’s strong transport links to both Edinburgh and beyond via tram, bus and rail, it truly is the gateway to Scotland. Passengers will have easy access to the delights of Scotland from the Airport, whether it’s sampling Scottish whiskey or a visit to St. Andrews, The Home of Golf.
