WebSUMMIT - Humberto Delgado Airport welcomes conference speakers

The Humberto Delgado Airport – Lisbon has been working on the organisation of WebSUMMIT since the end of 2015, because it was decided that the best solution in terms of logistics and operations would involve the registration at the Airport of over 50% of the speakers coming from abroad.

This decision led ANA/VINCI Airports to design, in conjunction with the organisation of the event, a differentiating and suitable logistics solution in which the Airport Administration assigned a management team to the project, made up of various skills, ranging from institutional relations to IT, maintenance and operations teams.

WebSUMMIT’s presence in Lisbon Airport has several components in terms of design and logistics: The logistics operations of preparing the areas in the airport and making them available started on 26 October and will end on 9 November.

The event will be held between 7 and 10 November. The registration for the conference, to be carried out at Lisbon Airport, can be performed between 5 and 8 November:
•    on the 5th, from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.;
•    on the 6th and the 7th, from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m.;
•    on the final day, the 8th, from 6a.m. to 6 p.m.

Within the terminal, the registration app for the WebSUMMIT, which all participants must access, will be available for download via VINCI Airports’ Wi-Fi portal.

Appropriate visible signage will be present to guide participants who arrive from the most diverse origins, from the baggage claim area to the outer tent, where they will register for the conference.

Still inside the terminal, Apollo Lounge (for the registration of speakers and press) and Ícaro Lounge (for volunteer and staff logistical support) will be allocated to the project.

A space dedicated for registration has been set up outside the terminal, consisting of an outdoor tent, 30 m X 15 m, placed next to the Metro station and equipped with 36 registration counters and free Wi-Fi access. Naturally, access is provided to participants/passengers with reduced mobility (PRM).

The location is privileged in terms of movement/flows, enabling quick access to the Metro, to the taxi rank, to the coach park and to the rent-a-car silo.
During the entire registration period, WebSUMMIT will provide around 170 volunteers who, in conjunction with the Airport Administration, will provide assistance, monitoring, information and registration for the participants.

Considering the work carried out by the Group in the field of innovation and technology, VINCI Airports believes it is only natural to be associated with this cutting edge movement in innovation and creativity. For this reason. the structures created to welcome the WebSUMMIT participants at Humberto Delgado Airport – Lisbon prove evidence of its involvement in these areas.
