Pittsburgh International Airport traffic report for March 2015

Spring break, new air service fuel passenger gains

Total passengers, operations and number of nonstop destinations at Pittsburgh International Airport all continue to show year-over-year increases through March.

Combined enplaned and deplaned traffic for March 2015 totaled 695,516 passengers. Traffic in March shows a 29.9 percent increase over February due to typical increases in spring break travel, and a 2.7 percent increase over March 2014. Available seats are also up more than 3 percent.

Carriers led by JetBlue and Delta reported year-over-year increases in passenger traffic. Other gains are a result of the return of nonstop service to San Francisco on United, new nonstop service to Punta Cana on Vacation Express, Allegiant’s first full month of scheduled service to new Florida destinations and additional charter flights to the Caribbean.

Pittsburgh International Airport serves 49 destinations nonstop with an average of 171 weekday departures and nearly 16,000 available seats on 11 carriers.
