Passenger traffic continues to show growth year-to-date

Total passenger traffic at Pittsburgh International Airport continues to show year-to-date growth for 2015.

Combined enplaned and deplaned traffic for May 2015 totaled 707,596 passengers, a six percent increase from April. Year-to-date, total airport passenger traffic is up 1.6 percent and all scheduled carriers combined are up 0.6 percent. May 2015 compared to May 2014 showed a 1.1 percent decrease in passengers.

The airport also recorded 12,208 aircraft operations (take‐offs and landings) in May 2015 compared to 11,646 in May 2014, a 4.8 percent increase. Carriers led by JetBlue, Delta and US Airways all reported increases in passenger traffic in May 2015, as well as charter service providers to the Caribbean. Nonstop flights to Jacksonville, Tampa and Punta Gorda, Fla. on Allegiant also contributed to gains.

As of July 10, Pittsburgh International Airport serves 50 destinations nonstop with an average of 174 weekday departures and nearly 16,000 available seats on 11 carriers.
