Southwest Begins Daily Nonstop Service to Los Angeles
Southwest rolls out the red carpet for Pittsburgh travelers heading to the West Coast
Pittsburgh International Airport and Southwest Airlines officials celebrated the start of new nonstop service to Los Angeles (LAX) with a Hollywood-themed gate party for passengers and water arch salute of the aircraft on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016 at Gate A5 in the Airside Terminal.
A prize wheel, trivia questions, refreshments, music and even a few "movie stars" greeted travelers as they waited to board the flight, which departs PIT daily at 7:10 p.m. and arrives at LAX at 9:10 p.m. The return flight departs LAX at 4:55 p.m. and arrives at PIT at 12:25 a.m.
Southwest officially joined American Airlines in providing an additional nonstop flight to Los Angeles on August 7. Both flights are important for business and leisure travelers in the region, and offer convenient options for those visiting or doing business on the West Coast.
