Open skies between Vladivostok and points in South Korea

The aeronautical authorities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the 10-11 of May 2012 in Moscow

The parties have agreed to remove restrictions for operations of airlines of both countries between Vladivostok and points in South Korea under the third and the forth freedom traffic rights, including the number of designated carriers and the number of frequencies.

In addition, the delegation discussed the possibility of providing fifth freedom traffic rights for Russian carriers on the routes from Russia to North America via South Korea.

In connection with the "open skies" regime between Vladivostok and South Korea, JSC "Vladivostok International Airport" expects a significant increase in the frequency of flights on the routes Vladivostok- Seoul, Vladivostok - Busan, as well as opening up new holiday destinations - Jeju and Yangyang.

- Korean destinations is the strategic direction for the Vladivostok airport - said General Director of JSC "International Airport Vladivostok" Maxim Chetverikov. -In terms of our passenger traffic today Seoul is the second destination after Moscow.
