Toulouse : Best airport in France

FRIENDLY police at its security checkpoint have helped Toulouse-Blagnac Airport be named the best in France. 

Passengers on internet flight comparison site Skyscanner also praised its welcoming and safe environment and rated Toulouse 7.9 out of 10, ahead of Lyon, Bordeaux, Nice and Mulhouse-Bâle. 

They praised the airport’s speed in boarding and in getting their luggage into the baggage hall but also the cleanliness of the buildings and the number of shops available. 

Special mention was made of the security officers for their welcome at the checkpoint, usually one of passengers’ main complaints about airports. 

Airport president Jean-Michel Vernhes said they were “flattered” by the win and said it was down to the “hard work of all the staff at the airport – as well as the border police!” 

The airport has been transformed since the bright and airy, steel and glass Hall D opened in 2010. It has given the airport an international gateway and helped boost passenger capacity to 8.5 million. 

The Paris airports Charles-de-Gaulle and Orly were bottom of the poll, especially because of a lack of comfort and facilities.
