Leeds Bradford (LBA) is the international gateway airport for Yorkshire, the largest region in the UK.
Yorkshire has a population of 5.6m (10% of UK's population) which is larger than the population of Scotland or Norway.
LBA offers 72 destinations across 22 countries serving Leeds and Bradford, two of the fastest growing cities in the UK and Europe.
17 new international routes have been introduced at LBA in 2010/11 and a further 5 already announced for 2012.
LBA was the fastest growing UK airport in 2010/11 with growth in excess of 10%.
The 3 millionth passenger will fly from LBA in early 2012.

In 2012 an £11m terminal investment will deliver a contemporary look and feel departure lounge (increased in size by 65%), enlarged security zone (increased in size by 40% and delivering upto 6 channels), a new covered walkway to aircraft stands, enlarged boarding gate zones, a wider choice of retail, food and bar alongside an extended duty free store, providing LBA with ‘best in class' regional airport facilities.

RYANAIR LAUNCHES TWO NEW LEEDS BRADFORD WINTER ROUTES TO/FROM KAUNAS AND RIGA

Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (14th June) announced two new Leeds Bradford routes to/from Kaunas and Riga from November which grows Ryanair’s Leeds Bradford winter schedule to 13 low fares routes, which will see Ryanair deliver over 1m passengers p.a., sustaining up to 1,000 jobs in the Yorkshire region.

Ryanair celebrated its two new Leeds Bradford routes by releasing 1million £9.99 seats for travel across its European network in September which are available for booking on www.ryanair.com until midnight (24:00hrs) Thursday (16th June).  Ryanair’s new routes will be available for booking on Ryanair.com tomorrow.

Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:

“Ryanair is pleased to announce two new Leeds Bradford winter routes to/from Kaunas and Riga to extend our winter 2011/2012 schedule to 13 low fare routes.  Ryanair will now deliver over 1million passengers p.a. and sustain up to 1,000 local jobs in the Yorkshire region.

To celebrate the launch of our two new low fare routes we are releasing 1million £9.99 seats for travel in September on over 1,000 Ryanair routes throughout Europe.”
