Leeds Bradford (LBA) is the international gateway airport for Yorkshire, the largest region in the UK.
Yorkshire has a population of 5.6m (10% of UK's population) which is larger than the population of Scotland or Norway.
LBA offers 72 destinations across 22 countries serving Leeds and Bradford, two of the fastest growing cities in the UK and Europe.
17 new international routes have been introduced at LBA in 2010/11 and a further 5 already announced for 2012.
LBA was the fastest growing UK airport in 2010/11 with growth in excess of 10%.
The 3 millionth passenger will fly from LBA in early 2012.
In 2012 an £11m terminal investment will deliver a contemporary look and feel departure lounge (increased in size by 65%), enlarged security zone (increased in size by 40% and delivering upto 6 channels), a new covered walkway to aircraft stands, enlarged boarding gate zones, a wider choice of retail, food and bar alongside an extended duty free store, providing LBA with ‘best in class' regional airport facilities.

NEW ROUTES WITH THOMAS COOK
EXPANSION OF THOMAS COOK CHARTER HOLIDAY PROGRAMME FROM LBA FOR WINTER 2009 AND SUMMER 2010
New Destinations with Thomas Cook Airlines from Leeds Bradford International Airport
Thomas Cook Airlines has announced three exciting new destinations to its winter 2009/2010 and Summer 2010 programmes from Leeds Bradford International Airport (LBIA).
Passengers will now be able to head for the sun this winter with the addition of Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt (03 November to 27 April) and Monastir, Tunisia (01 to 22 November and 7 March to 25 April).
New for next Summer, Thomas Cook is offering the popular beach resorts of Antalya in Turkey and Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. Both destinations are available from 04 May to the 26 October 2010.
Pete Constanti, CEO of Mainstream Travel at Thomas Cook, said: "We want to make it as convenient as possible for our customers to go on holiday. By adding these extra winter and summer flight routes from LBIA, holidaymakers now have even more destinations to choose from, which are easily accessible from their local airport."
