Improved results for BSCA in April 2016: 694,946 came through Charleroi
Charleroi, 13 May 2016 – Brussels South Charleroi Airport saw an 11% rise in passenger traffic in April 2016. 694,946 passengers crossed the tarmac at BSCA compared with 623,901 in the same month in 2015. Although the number of flights from BSCA fell compared with the 2015 results, the load factors went up to around 85% during the course of April.
Once again the majority of the most popular destinations in April were around the Mediterranean. Spain came out on top, followed by Italy, France and Morocco. The fifth most popular country, more suitable for city breaks, is in Central Europe, as Poland completes the range of countries attracting the highest numbers of travellers flying from/to Brussels South Charleroi Airport.
Despite the difficult climate following the tragic events of March 22, 2016, every effort has been made to make sure that Brussels South Charleroi Airport was able to welcome all its passengers, striving to minimize any inconvenience. In April, some flights initially scheduled to depart from Brussels were transferred to Charleroi. As of this month, May, operations have been back to normal at BSCA, which is now only handling its own flights.

Our staff have done some remarkable work of outstanding quality, with almost non-existent delays for a number of flights and with more passengers than under normal circumstances. At the same time, Irish airline Ryanair has also announced a new destination from Brussels South Charleroi Airport. Starting on October 30, Ryanair will be flying to Glasgow International twice a week, adding to the other destinations already available in the United Kingdom.
