Car rental once again located close to terminals 1 and 2: Vehicles return to car park P1 at Brussels South Charleroi Airport

Charleroi, 8 February 2017 – With effect from Thursday 9 February 2017, car rental company vehicles will again be located close to terminals 1 and 2 at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. From then on, they will be on level 0 in car park P1. The entrances and exits have been reassessed and modified in order to avoid any confusion for future users of rental vehicles. The location of the offices is unchanged; these remain on level 1 (Sixt) and level 0 (Europcar, Hertz and Avis-Budget).

The extension to the non-Schengen area in terminal 1 and the construction of terminal 2 meant that at the beginning of March 2016 rental cars had to be relocated to car park 4, opposite the Business Aviation terminal in Rue des Fusillés. A shuttle service was then provided to link the two terminals. Less than a year later, with the work completed, car park P1 at Brussels South Charleroi Airport has been reconfigured to enable the above companies’ rental vehicles to be located there once again.

Level 0 in car park P1 has been modified and configured such that part of it is used to accommodate the cars belonging to the four companies present at Charleroi. From Thursday, the vehicles will be located in a covered car park closer to the airport’s two terminals thus improving facilities for passengers.

The CEO of Brussels South Charleroi Airport expressed satisfaction at the return of vehicles to the terminal 1 and 2 location: “Concern for the comfort of our passengers means that we try to minimise travel constraints as far as possible, while providing a service that meets everyone’s needs. Location of the vehicles in the airport’s car park P1 will benefit passengers, who will have direct access to the vehicles sheltered from the wind and rain, and will be better too for vehicle rental company staff. We are currently reviewing our car park facilities in order to improve the experience for everyone using BSCA. Relocation of the vehicles was undertaken in full consultation with our car rental partners in order to provide the best possible, high quality service to passengers.”
