Faro Airport creates new spaces for passengers who love Cycling in Algarve

.

Seeking to support the sustainability of the Cycling & Walking tourism product, to elevate the passenger’s experience in Faro Airport and to effectively meet the supply and demand requirements of this growing tourism product in Algarve, we created three spaces containing equipment to assemble and disassemble bicycles (one in the public check-in area and two in the luggage collection lounge).

These new features in Faro’s terminal seek to reinforce and elevate the experience of the passengers who love cycling in Algarve and appear in response to the action plan crafted for the development of this new tourism product, a part of the Cycling & Walking program in Algarve (2016–2019).

This program, we should note, is the result of the study commissioned from TDI – Tourism Development International, in partnership with ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, Turismo de Portugal, Região de Turismo do Algarve and the various partners in the segment, and was awarded and launched last march by Turismo de Portugal, Região de Turismo do Algarve, ATA and AMAL. ANA Aeroportos de Portugal and Faro Airport, as partners and stakeholders in this Plan, once again provide a contribution to the sustainability of new premium products in the region and unequivocally ensure support to the tourism offer’s diversification, which is in line with a continuous commitment by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal to fight Algarve’s seasonality.
