Portugal won “the Oscar” for Europe's leading travel destination 2017 in an industry event held this weekend in St. Petersburg: the World Travel Awards’ Europe Gala Ceremony. Madeira was named leading island destination, the Algarve won Europe's best beach destination and TAP Air Portugal Europe's Leading Airline to Africa, Europe's Leading Airline to South America and Europe's Leading Inflight Magazine.
