ALTA (Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association) is a private, non-profit organization, whose more than 30 member airlines represent over 90 percent of the region’s commercial air traffic. ALTA coordinates the collaborative efforts of its members to facilitate the development of safer, more efficient and environmentally friendly air transport in the Latin America and Caribbean region for the mutual benefit of the association’s members, their customers and the industry. 
 
As the leading Air Transport Association for the Region, ALTA’s key role is bringing together aviation experts, airlines, and other industry players on the different issues required to fulfill its mission.  In an effort to promote closer ties within the industry, ALTA organizes several annual conferences serving as platforms for international exchanges and an excellent opportunity to analyze and address the industry’s challenges.
 
ALTA also has a number of standing committees and working groups that deliver policy and set standards on behalf of its members. The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) facilitates the full potential of the Caribbean hotel and tourism industry by serving members’ needs and building partnerships in a socially responsible and sustainable manner.  CHTA was founded in 1962; it is the voice of the Caribbean hospitality industry for the development of the region in the highly competitive and sophisticated environment of international tourism.

Today, tourism is widely recognized as a pivotal industry in the economy of the region – and CHTA functions as the common denominator for this industry in a region of diverse nationalities, languages and styles, identifying mutual problems and marshalling the resources of the active and allied members to devise solutions.
