Interested in hosting a Routes Asia Event?
The Routes concept is simple and unique: it recognises that air service development is a partnership between airlines, airports, tourism authorities and economic development agencies. Routes event provide the opportunity for these partners to meet, negotiate, build relationships and determine the world’s future air route networks. They are powerful events, both in aviation and as a catalyst for regional economic development for its Host.
Currently in its 18th year, World Routes is the world’s largest network planning event and is the annual gathering of the ‘route development community”. It not only reinforces the activities of this community throughout the year, but through discussions and decisions taken at the event itself, directly shapes the world’s future air networks. Since its conception, a further five Regional Routes events have been launched: Routes Asia; Routes Europe; Routes Americas; Routes Africa and Routes CIS – all market-leaders in their regions.
Routes events occupy a unique position both in the field of aviation and as an economic development catalyst. Air transport is one of the most powerful means of regional economic development and Routes delivers to the events and their host cities the key people who decide where, when and why the world’s airlines fly.
It is for these reasons that many airports and cities wish to host the events, supported by their regional and national governments and other stakeholders. The benefits of hosting Routes events are both real and substantial and consequently, most of the world’s leading gateways have been, or wish to be, its Host.
Potential hosts must possess a number of established qualities, including the vision, the desire, the motivation and the technical capabilities to act as the stage for Routes.
