Lufthansa mulls charging credit card fees

Lufthansa is evaluating whether to charge passengers a fee for credit card purchases from Nov. 2, German media reported. If it moves forward with the plan, the carrier will implement an "Optional Payment Charge" similar to several low-cost carriers. The new fee reportedly will be introduced for bookings in Germany and Switzerland and LH estimates it will add an extra charge for passengers of €5 ($7.11) for German domestic flights, €8 for flights within Europe and €18 for all intercontinental flights.
