All Nippon Airways Group said its pilot unions are threatening a 24-hr. strike Oct. 1. In a statement issued Thursday, ANA said it is continuing “urgent negotiations” to avert industrial action and its disruption to passengers. It said it has put forward a “fair set of proposals with the pilots unions.”

ANA said the strike would cancel 186 cancellations and cause 66 delays for domestic flights. International flights would not be affected.

Kyodo News reported pilots are seeking improved crew training programs.
