UCH 3Q profit dips 23% to $653 million

United Continental Holdings (UCH), parent of merger partners United Airlines (UA) and Continental Airlines (CO), posted a third-quarter net profit of $653 million, down 23% from $852 million in pro-forma net income in the year-ago period.
