US carriers report 7 domestic, 11 international extended tarmac delays in October

US carriers reported seven tarmac delays longer than 3 hr., compared to no tarmac delays in October 2010 (ATW Daily News, Dec. 8, 2010), according to the US Dept. of Transportation’s (DOT) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS).
BTS reported there were 11 international flights of tarmac delays of more than 4 hr. in October.
