The move marks another evolution for Alteon, begun several years ago as a pilot training joint venture between Boeing and FlightSafety International under the name FlightSafety Boeing Training International. Boeing acquired FSI's stake in 2003 when it became clear the two companies had differing visions for the organization. Alteon has been involved closely in developing a pilot training curriculum under ICAO's Multi-Crew Pilot License standard. "With the new organization, we will be able to present a single face to the customer across our global network and a consistent level of excellence in aviation services," Alteon President Sherry Carbary said. The unit has more than 100 simulators in 20 locations on six continents.
