Volaris to Launch Mexico City - Oakland International Service

Posted 18/03/2011 | 1 comment

Mexican low-cost operator Volaris is to inaugurate its first overseas flight from Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport with a daily rotation to Oakland International from May 6.  This will be its second link to the US airport as it already has a double daily operation from Guadalajara, a route launched in July 2008.  Over 6,000 O&D passengers flew between the two destinations on indirect services in the year ending January 2011 and Volaris will hope to stimulate the market with its low-fares and partnership with Southwest Airlines, which will allow passengers to make onward connections in the US and Mexico.

OAK is great international airport to use when visiting the San Francisco Bay Area. It is located on the shore of the Bay in the heart of all the action. It is the closest airport to most of the Bay Area's 7 million people. Easy access, new facilities, and low operating costs. Just 25 minutes to downtown San Francisco, Fisherman's Wharf, and Union Square. 20 to 30 minutes away from Berkeley, Walnut Creek, Dublin, Pleasanton and many more East Bay communiities. OAK is also the closest major airport to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys.
