Flybe Launches Edinburgh – Knock Link

UK low-fare carrier Flybe has today (April 19) inaugurated flights between Ireland West Airport Knock and Edinburgh. The new service will operate three times a week on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and five times a week during July and August with additional flights added on a Monday and Friday. According to forecasts it is expected to bring in an additional 10,000 tourists to Ireland annually generating additional spend of upwards of €3,000,000 to the local economy.
“This is an important day in the airport’s history adding such a strong airline brand as Flybe who become our 5th scheduled airline partner and Edinburgh our 10th UK destination,” said Joe Gilmore, Managing Director, Ireland West Airport Knock. “The new service to Edinburgh will come as welcome news to all those visiting friends and family in Scotland, which has strong traditional links with the West and North West of Ireland and we look forward to welcoming the thousands of tourists from Scotland on this new service over the coming months.”
