ROUTES EUROPE: A Sunny Sardinian Welcome to Routes Europe Delegates

ROUTES EUROPE: A Sunny Sardinian Welcome to Routes Europe Delegates

Posted 07/05/2011

To everyone attending our Routes Europe event… Welcome to Cagliari in Sardinia, an island that is known as the pearl of the Mediterranean and famous for some of the most beautiful beaches worldwide and for being the sunniest region of Italy.  A large social programme arranged alongside this year’s event means that you will hopefully get the chance to enjoy just some of the highlights of the southern tip of Sardinia as well as to mix with your fellow colleagues in the business.

These include tours of Cagliari with the chance to view The Town Hall, the Bastion of Saint Remy, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Citadel Museum, the Tower of San Pancrazio, the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Elephant Tower, the Basilica of Bonaria and Molentargius Park, a permanent home to pink flamingos.  Also on Sunday morning there is an archaeological tour to Barumini.

But, we must remember that we are here to work and this year, the sixth Routes Europe event, will bring together more than 700 delegates from 50 different countries.  These include 120 airline staff representing 67 different carriers and 360 plus from more than 300 airports.  These range from small regional airlines and airports to major flag carriers and international hubs.

There will be a strong presence from the low-cost sector including special Route Exchange briefings from Aer Lingus, easyJet, Meridianafly, Ryanair and Vueling Airlines.  AirAsia X will also announce its selection of Routesonline’s Route Exchange platform to manage a request for proposal for their newly acquired Airbus A330 widebodies.

If you are attending the event, I look forward to meeting you over the next couple of days.  If not, you will be kept up to date on the latest developments in the three issues of The HUB Daily that are being produced at the event.
