ROUTES EUROPE: Sky Express Introduces A319s

Posted 09/05/2011

Russian low-cost carrier SkyExpress is to introduce the Airbus A319 into its fleet after signing a lease deal with Irish-registered lessor Oak Hill Aircraft.  The airline has agreed to acquire three aircraft which were all previously operated by UK carrier easyJet, but confirms that these are for network growth and not for fleet replenishment.  The Moscow Vnukovo-based company currently operates nine Classic Boeing 737s, comprising a mix of -300 and -500 variants.  The first of the aircraft was due to be handed over to the airline this week, with two further examples being delivered later this year.
