Tradewind Aviation Launches Regular Service to Anguilla and Nevis

North American regional carrier Tradewind Aviation is adding links to Anguilla and Nevis from San Juan, Puerto Rico as part of its ‘Premium Scheduled Service’ offering. The new routes join Tradewind's existing St Barth's, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard services and which further establish the carrier as a prominent provider or first-class short range flights serving difficult to reach luxury destinations.

Tradewind Aviation, which is based in Oxford, CT but with offices in San Juan, PR, White Plains,NY and Teterboro, NJ, was founded in 2001 but introduced its new business concept in 2002 to bring a higher level of service and equipment to short routes serving high end destinations. It initially launched flights from Westchester and Teterboro to Nantucket, adding links to Martha's Vineyard from the two New York area airports in 2005. These routes are flown from private FBOs.

The airline operates an all turbine fleet of Cessna Grand Caravans and Pilatus PC12s, flown by a two pilot crew at all times with complimentary drinks, snacks, wine and beer onboard. “We market it as ‘the private charter experience for the cost of a single seat’ - and this very much sums it up,” David Zipkin, Vice President of Marketing, Tradewind Aviation told The HUB during an interview last year.

“I am extremely excited about these newest additions to our network,” explained Eric Zipkin, President of Tradewind. “Our premium scheduled service has been extraordinarily well-received in the neighboring island of St. Bart’s and I am confident that the same clientele will enjoy the ease and comfort of access to Anguilla and Nevis.”

Tradewind Aviation made its debut in St Barth’s when it introduced flights from San Juan in 2006. In 2011, Tradewind further enhanced its St Barth’s offering with a new link from St Thomas, adding to the airline connection options for US visitors and further enhancing connectivity in the Caribbean.

“I am happy that Tradewind aviation answered my call to provide airlift on the very important route of San Juan – Anguilla,” said Haydn Hughes, Minister of Anguilla Tourism. “They have already proven their worth and reliability in the region and I am confident that Anguilla as a premier destination will benefit from their extraordinary service. We are anxious to have them start this service and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship.”

“This new route from San Juan directly to the Nevis Vance M. Amory International Airport will allow travelers to discover the natural beauty of the island, while experiencing the genuine hospitality of the Nevisian people,” added Sven Wiedenhaupt, General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Nevis. “This creates more opportunities for visitors to discover the magic of this culturally rich destination, known as one of the Caribbean's best-kept secret and secluded spots."
