Routesonline boosted through Airlineroute integration

We are constantly looking at ways we can better serve the air service development community with our content offering. Whether it is through our enhanced live offering at events; our relaunched Routes News magazine with a refreshed look, style and content; our engaging social media channels; or every day via our news and analysis on the Routesonline.com digital platform, we are working to become one of the leading resources for route development professionals.

Our offer has been boosted this week by the completion of the integration of leading aviation blog, Airlineroute.net, into our digital channel. The popular site was launched by Jim Liu in 2007 as a personal project to track airline schedule changes based on flight schedule data loaded in the airline GDS system.

“The Airlineroute content proposition is based on fact and all posts are backed by confirmed GDS information. This is why the platform has become a well-respected source of original information and a great tool for air service professionals to keep up to date with network changes and to react quickly to latest developments.”

In just under ten years the site has grown to become an important source of breaking route announcements, latest schedule changes, and new aircraft deployment and has attracted a strong and loyal following.

“I have long admired the efforts Jim Liu has put into the Airlineroute blog and have worked closely with him since UBM acquired the platform in 2012 to maximise the value of his work to our community,” said Richard Maslen, editor, Routesonline. “Now, exclusively housed on Routesonline, the product has a standing in the industry that matches the efforts being put into its content creation.”

“The Airlineroute content proposition is based on fact and all posts are backed by confirmed GDS information. As a highly regarded platform for breaking news, the synergies between Airlineroute and the Routesonline brand are clear. Air service development professionals will now be able to more efficiently access news, analysis, industry trends and data on the subjects relevant to them. The integration process has seen over 36,000 pieces of content added to the Routesonline archive and will significantly grow traffic to the site.

“The integration of Airlineroute into Routesonline allows us to focus on a single digital platform to engage, inform, educate and market to air service development community stakeholders.”

“The integration of Airlineroute into Routesonline allows us to focus on a single digital platform to engage, inform, educate and market to air service development community stakeholders,” said Paul McCann, head of digital, UBM EMEA – Routes.

“This process will help us to deliver on our promise to provide content that helps air service development stakeholders identify industry trends, perform their jobs more effectively and add value to the Routes live event experience,” he added.

Over recent years Airlineroute has exclusively broken stories on a number of planned route announcements, while also being first to provide firm evidence to confirm developments within the industry. It has also been regularly cited in leading global titles such as TIME magazine, USA Today, Wall Street Journal for its content leads.

“Routes is the aviation industry leader in connecting airlines with airports and destinations, whether online or at our international live events. The addition of Airlineroute is a key step in the development of a more integrated content proposition for our customers,” added Luke Bilton, director digital and Content, UBM EMEA London.
