TACA & Avianca seal "merger of equals"

Columbia's Avianca and El Salvador's TACA have closed their merger agreement after receiving approval by the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority, Aerocivil to combine their operations.
The two carriers remain separate brands, but the group structure is now 33.3% owned by Taca's Kriete family and 66.6% by Avianca's owner, German Efromovich.
