Lufthansa to increase Tel Aviv capacity

From April 26th, Lufthansa will increase its existing 4x weekly operation from Munich to Tel Aviv to a 5x weekly service. The carrier operates the route with A340-600 equipment and faces scheduled competition on the sector from the following carriers;
- Air Berlin 3x weekly
- El Al 6x weekly
- Arkia Israeli Airlines
Over 109,000 passengers have flown the sector in the 12 month period between Dec 08-09 (O+D and indirect).
