Air Berlin adds long haul routes

German carrier Air Berlin has revealed it will add new long haul flights from its Berlin Tegel base to Dubai and Mombasa (Kenya).
Both routes are to be inaugurated from November 1st and will be served with A330-200 aircraft. There is currently no carriers serving the Dubai route from Berlin. IATA BSP data shows that over 38,000 pax have flown between Tegel and Dubai between Feb 09-10, and Air Berlin has consequently decided to add a 3x weekly service. Passengers currently have transitted via Doha with Qatar Airways as the leading transit point.
There is no carrier operating from either Berlin airport to Mombasa.
