Bmi responds to sale rumours
Posted 13/09/2011
Bmi has issued a statement in response to reports that its parent, Lufthansa, is to put the airline up for sale.
According to reports in the financial press, the German carrier has appointed Morgan Stanley to look into disposing of the loss-making airline, which is the second biggest operator at Heathrow.
But Bmi says various options are being looked at.
“The Lufthansa and Bmi management team are exploring and assessing options, no decision has been made,” said a spokesman.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic have both expressed interest in Bmi due to its flight slots at Heathrow.
