Here's a sneak preview of Thomson's new £5m TV advertising campaign, due to launch this weekend during X Factor.

Thomson described the pre-Christmas TV campaign as "a bold move" as the industry traditionally kicks off its new campaigns at the turn of the year.

The campaign was creative directed by BMB's Trevor Beattie and moves away from traditional holiday advertising.

Simon Wrench, marketing manager for Inntravel, was quick to share his views on the new campaign.

“We are delighted to see that Thomson has taken a leaf out of Inntravel’s book and is to encourage its customers to spend quality time with their loved ones," he said.

"Since December last year, Inntravel has been running its Wonderfully Slow Holidays campaign which focuses on taking time to pause, slow down and savour the travel experience with loved ones. For Inntravel customers this means exploring a region in more depth at their own pace, and getting to know its traditional ways of life, its hospitality and scenery.”
